Cleaning job profit calculator

Price the job from the bottom up.

Three focused steps turn the costs you can defend into a price floor, expected profit and the margin left after any discount.

STEP 1 OF 3

Labor and team

Step 1: Build the labor cost
01 Build the labor costHow long, how many people and what each labor hour costs you.

Private calculation. Inputs stay in this browser and are not sent to QuoteMath.

Margin, not guesswork

A 35% markup is not a 35% margin.

Markup uses cost as its base. Margin uses the final selling price. That difference is where otherwise busy businesses quietly lose profit.

A repeatable pricing decision

Three inputs. One defensible number.

QuoteMath does not decide whether a job is right for you. It gives you the economics needed to decide clearly.

  1. 01

    Load the labor

Count every productive hour and the employer costs above base pay.

  2. 02

    Include quiet costs

Add supplies, travel and a fair portion of the overhead that keeps the business running.

  3. 03

    Protect the margin

See the price floor, profit and exact impact of any recurring-client discount.

Clear answers

Before you rely on the number.

QuoteMath makes pricing math visible. It does not replace your judgment, job scope or local professional advice.

Is this a market-rate calculator?

No. Market averages cannot know your wage, team speed, travel or overhead. QuoteMath calculates a price floor from the numbers you enter.

Why divide cost by one minus the margin?

Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price. Marking cost up by 35% produces only a 25.9% margin, not a 35% margin.

Does the Profit Engine work in Google Sheets?

The workbook is built as an Excel file and uses formulas compatible with Google Sheets. Some visual formatting can vary slightly after import.

Does the calculator include sales tax?

No. Sales tax is excluded because its treatment varies. Add only costs that genuinely affect the economics of the job and verify local obligations.

What should payroll burden include?

Use the employer costs above base pay that apply to you, such as payroll taxes, insurance, paid time and benefits. Ask a local professional if you are unsure.

Are my calculator inputs sent anywhere?

No. Calculations happen in your browser. Inputs are saved only in local browser storage so they can be restored on your device.

Is the $39 founding price charged now?

No. Joining the list reserves access to the founding purchase link. No card details are collected on this page.

Does this replace accounting or legal advice?

No. QuoteMath is a business planning tool. Check taxes, employment costs, insurance and local requirements with qualified professionals.
